British waterways

It's been a while since I posted, work, study and family (mainly work and study) stole much of my mojo despite getting out everyday while walking the boys and keeping up on my plant recognition I've had no time for adventures.

Last week took me down a local waterway I've never really explored the waterways but that's something I feel I really should rectify, as well as many plants I already recognised there were many more I didn't.

Despite being so close to a large town and busy roads under the Black Country Route at one point and parallel to a rail track for a while, it was surprisingly peaceful, quiet as well as full of fauna and flora.

Ducks swam closer but mommy duck wasn't keen on the Coot being so close to her babies.

Yellow Pond Lilly Edible (do your research)

Whether I get myself some waterborne transport at some point or continue along the towpaths has yet to be seen but I definitely needs to explore these area's some more.

  1. Great photos, love the ducks :)

    1. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment, that particular canal is a bit out of my way but I'll be exploring the local ones soon
