Foxglove

Foxglove01 Foxglove Digitalis purpurea

Went for a walk this morning along a route I’d not been in a couple of months and came across these pretty little flowers towering above the drab weeds of the season surrounding a small lake. Not edible in it’s own right but highly medicinal in the right hands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digitalis_purpurea & http://www.herbcompanion.com/herb-profiles/ORIGINS-OF-MEDICINE-Foxglove.aspx make for some light reading on the subject.

I also got within 20ft of a pheasant cock despite the dogs, unfortunately as I reached for my phone to try and take a picture, he spooked and took flight...... maybe next time.
